B'alrahg, Steel, and I attended the Trinity Park shoot this morning. 'Rahg and I volunteered to referee. An interesting experience. A lot more work that anticipated. We enjoyed ourselves immensely. Two quick games of capture the flag, with an ammo box on a trail halfway between the two sides. I (perhaps not so wisely) decided to hang out near the ammo box in the first game - bad move as I barely had sufficient cover to protect my butt from the INTENSE fire fight. I had, to be honest, placed myself in a crossfire. I did get to see the winning team belly crawl through thick brush to snag the box, avoiding the trail entirely. An impressive move. We had a Predator game, that went very well. Mr. Noble did a fine job luring his pursuers across the bridge into Little Viet Hell. Things got real ugly back in them thick bushes, with two or three groups of roving predators hunting down the last few remaining humans. Keep an eye out for a photo of Noble fording the creek to get to his prey. (Yep, the creek was full this time, which doesn't seem to be that big a deterrent to some). The last game was a retrieval. We placed a box of rocks (can't make it too easy) out in the woods and told the two teams to go fetch. It was a regeneration game, so getting shot out wasn't the end. Lots of good small running fire fights while the two teams tried to find the box and avoid each other. The box was delivered to the end point with seconds left. Overall - I had a great time. "Rahg and I shot a few rolls of film - we should have some great shots out of this. Mad Ivan showed up again to provide air, balls, chronograph, etc. His lady friend helped with some distasteful cast off disposal. Thanks to both of you. Hope everybody enjoyed themselves as much as I did. BTW - stop shooting the referee. That smarts. Bill Burks Venus, Texas
