Balrahg Wroye: Debrief: Hillbillies gone postal On 05-19-06, at aprox. 0800hrs we departed from CP Balrahg to begin the lang arduous journey to the Northern wastes known as Arkansas. Sadly, we were detained by a slight mechanical problem with my truck, the brake light switch burned out thus leaving me without brake lights. After a wait for repairs we finally got going at 1130 hrs. When we arrived there, roughly at 1830 hrs, there was much rejoicing. We sat, talked and told many stories and stomped more than a few brain cells. We, as a team, went and scoped out what we could of the field of battle after we set up the CP and got our supplies unpacked and stowed away. Mike has done an AWSOME job at putting more buildings and obstacles down in the village. Saturday morning came and after a few of our soldiers were nursed back to health, we planned the first shoots. We were also awaiting the arrival of the other shooters. The initial shooters were, Myself/ Jester/ Mustang/ Spike/ John R. and his two boys. We waited as long as we could and the temp/ humidity was rising too quickly to wait any longer so we went to the field and got under way. We played two take the fort scenarios: 1) Take the Fort I: John R.s' two boys and Spike vs. Me/ Jester and Mustang. It was a quick and furious game with the defenders taking the fort with only one casualty. 2) Take the Fort II: I opted to be camera man and Spike was out due to mechanical failure. We swapped sides and Defenders took the fort after a vicious exchange. We then took a break as we were having serious dehydration issues and headed up to the CP to re-equip and re-hydrate. There were still no signs of the other 10-15 shooters who were supposed to be in attendance. After our short break, we had another exchange. 3) Assault the fort III: At this point we had 8 shooters and split into a 4/5 split. We had one casualty from extreme allergic reactions to whatever Arkansas spits up from the ground as an excuse for foliage. It reminds me of the ST:TOS show where everything on the planet was deadly. We found that even the woods were against us that day. Fekking insects were on a warpath that day too. It was another vicious exchange when we got going, and the defenders got the fort. 4) Predator: By now the temps and humidity were getting silly. We were drenched in sweat before we even got the game under way. John R. took the Predator reins and went off to hide and make us pred's as we hunted his arse down like the dog he wuz. I got knocked out early due to Marker failure (It seems the Gawds of mechanical failure were smiling at me that day) I ran back to the supply area and grabbed my camera to try to get some of the action since I was effectively out of the match. JR took Mike and Mike alone. He got pasted by Jester before he could do any more damage. Mike was then taken out by mechanical failure of his marker. This pattern kept going for the rest of the day, it seemed that everything was breaking down. We then made the call to go back to camp and wait for the evening to set in so we would have no more casualties. We still had no more shooters show up until around 1630 and that was only three more shooters. We had two more shoots after that, but I will leave it to those involved as I was unable to play in those. After it was all said and done, we settled down for fellowship and fun. Mike made some home made incendiaries and we blew much stuff up. These were so powerful that they shook the ground when they went off. We set the Bonfire and had much, much fun. Sunday brought the standard camp breakdown and departure. I was disappointed that we didn't have many shooters, but we made the best of it all and had a GREAT time!! We have several more events in the planning stages and I am looking forward to it and them. Got everything loaded up in the truck and got ready to go. We made a stop at Jester and Spike's mom's house to pick up an ice chest. After getting the chest we got ready to head out on the highway (hehehe a Judas Priest reference) to Arkansas. Me and Spike followed in my mustang we noticed that Rhag' had a problem with his tail lights. We pulled over and told him about it. We spent about 30 minutes trying to figure it out. "Luckily" Grand Prairie Ford was just down the road. After sitting on our asses for two hours for GP Ford to try and diagnose and correct the problem in Rhag's truck we finally go to leave for Arkansas. We got to CF's ranch around 1800- 1830 and had camp set up in about 45 minutes. We all just sat around passed the Jack Daniels around and drank beer to unwind. CF joined us in the festivities. CF's friend John R showed up with his wife and two kids. We talked about D-4 and explosives, saw Spike get smashed. We started shooting around 0930 1000. played two games of capture the fort. It was me, Jester and Rhag' against Spike, and John R's kids. I took out John R's kids with shots to the hands. In the second game it was two on two. Me and Jester against the two kids. I took to the tower and got shot out. After the games we took a break. I needed it my allergies were killing me. My eyes looked like I just smoked a bowl of weed. I sat down in the trailer to cool and took a nap. I missed out the games that took place while I was resting. Shooting recomenced around 1600 1630. Played three games. I sat out one because I ran out of air. The first game was kinda quick. The second game I sat out. And the third game was long and hot. It was me, CF and son, and one other shooter. CF and son, and the other shooter were taken out. I was left all alone against 4 other shooters. I took them out in a long gun fight. They tried to flank me but I held my own with my A-5A2 with E-Grip and enough paint to paint a room. I took them out from behind a bunker. I wish I had a grenade at some points in the game. All in all it was fun. After the game it was food, beer, fellowship, bonfire and explosive time. We stayed up or I did at least untill 2330. I went to bed and had a bit of a tough time getting to sleep due to huge fire that Mike (CF) built. FYI Mike did not bring out his 23 year old engine cleaner I mean shine. Rhag' and Jester burnt their Malota shirts and got it on film. CF brought out the "boom sticks" and made one that was flash. We heard a helicopter fly over after we set off the flash stick. All in all it was a good fellowship and gathering. Not as many people showed up as expected but still fun. Would I do it again? You bet I would. One phrase became our battle cry... Hemma Nomma Nay Nay. To alll Hemma Nomma Nay Nay and see you all the next shoot. Mustang
