Trinity Park Shoot December 9 2006

MUSTANG WROTE:
Twas a glorious day for Ghostwalkers.  We had some new members join us today and shoot with us.  I was at the site around 8am and saw Steel, Bastitch and Balrahg there as well as some new people to shoot with.  Preacher and the Nun showed up later.  Then Evil Dave and Jester showed up too.

Game 1. Operation Rat Extermination/ Rescue Pepe.
Was a good was to start the day off.  Was a little shocking when me, Rahg, and Steel came in through the back door and saw two pat patrol members strolling around w/o masks.  When they spotted me they asked if the game had begun.  I was shocked to see that they had made it out that far to see if anyone was coming in from the back.  Eventually the game started up.  Me and Rahg lost track of Steel when he went into the brush.  We soon found him later on trying to get in close and chuck one of the Sonic Grenades.  They work but not as loud as we were expecting.  Me and Balrahg had started using the buddy system to help overcome the enemy.  We got pretty close within range to cause some havoc.  I got ready to use one of the paint grenades  on the fort but game was called.  As soon as the game was called El Jefe got mad and came up to me after the game and  said, "Another 30 seconds and you whould've been out." Too bad.  We got Pepe Back.  Team work is the key to all things in paintball.

SILENCER WROTE:
Saturday Morning 0830, Temp 29 degrees, no wind, sunny
Showed up at about 0830 and met the other Ghostwalkers.
All Present were Giggles,Preacher,Evil
Nun,Bastitch,Steel,Mustang,Evil Dave,Balragh plus 3 that joined that
day (soon to be on the website) and one Bastitch brought. Rats had
one (Jeff) at about 0900 and 4 more that showed up later. Slinky,
his brother, The Ethiopian and two newbies also showed. I didnt
want anyone sitting around waiting for the next game so Slinky video
taped while his brother took pictures and the two newbies we also
gave cameras too to take pictures..

GAME 1 GHOSTWALKERS VS. RAT PATROL

After our breifing (finally) we started Mustang,Steel and Balragh
went back up to Loop 12 to Flank from the Right. Me, Evil Nun and
the 3 Stooges flanked around the Left through Red Rum to come in
from behind while the rest proceeded up the front.

After coming around back I let the others know where the Rats
Nest was I took point and began moving up enough to Throw the Sonic
Grenade that I had and that would signal the start of the attack.
While moving up one of the Rats saw us and moved to intercept we
threw the Grenade (which shattered on impact with the leaves) and
did not go off we fired to hold off the Rat and i called on the
radio to start the attack (no radio communication)Nun and one other
took off to my left while me and another shot at the Rat the other
was so far back he couldnt fire Nun was shot out first with my
partner next i moved to my left (and I heard the others firing) to
get a better angle on the Rat and he ran back to the Nest i then
flanked more to the left to come in dead behind the nest (I noticed
all the tape we set up had been removed)and my last was shot out i
then crawled up to a point to take out anybody at the far right left
bunker and no one was there. I then moved to the V tree that me and
mustang saw was a great spot to shoot into the nest with I then shot
out the Tree snake (who was not in the tree)and since i was breaking
paint so badly (10 for 2 good shots) i decided to rush the nest for
the 10'rule and got shot about 1' from the nest. (1 and 1)
((Pepe was retreived but was contested by the Rats, but where is
Pepe now!! so we know who won))

GAME 2 NON TEAM MEMBERS AND NEWBIES VS. RAT WAlKERS

Me,Balragh and Evil Dave Ref'd (I video taped, Balragh took pictures)

Slinky set out the Defense of the Rats nest with a strong Defense
towards the back.. All (or most) of the RAT WALKERS team came from
the back and proceeded to take out all of the defenses one at a time
they used alot of communication which seemed to work out well at the
end of the game slinky was the only one left defending the Nest and
being attacked from 3 sides and was shot out about 10 seconds before
Jeff ran into the Nest.

GAME 3 PREADATOR ARMY GUY VS. RAT WALKERS NEWBIES ETC.....

The Army Guy set out and went over towards the pond and was seen
quiclky by Mustang and Ethiopian and some others by the bridge. The
Army Guy let out a barrage of fire shooting one and fled (he did not
know he shot anyone) and took up position in the front bunker by the
Alamo Bastitch came around the trail on the Alamo side and was shot
by the Army Guy (even though he was already a Preadator) all hell
was breaking loose by the Fox holes with no body knowing who was a
preadator or not on top of the hill by the Fox Holes the Ethiopian
walked quietly through the Predators and took off down the creek
towards the trinity by now every one was a preadator and we were
calling if any humans were alive and he stepped out into the creek
waveing I'm a human and the chase was one 5 minutes later the game
was over. (only one newbie was shot out while being a predator)

Not a bad day for running on a broken ankle.... huh!

CMONSTER WROTE:
On the first game, I followed Giggles, my two friends, and Evil Nun
behind Fort Apache. I wasn't real clear on the whole stolen totem
fracas as it happened before "my time" and was a grand excuse for me to
shoot at people for the team.

I yoinked the pin on the "holy hand-grenade", flung it...it immediatly
whacked a tree limb which got a giigle out of Giggles, and I proceeded
to lose the pin in the excitement of the moment. Giggles directed me to
move forward and help pin down, or at least take out, an opposing
player behind a tree while our team moved forward. While shooting at
this defender, I could hear Blitzz's (John's) gun burping and farting
vigorously...I knew he was in trouble. Steven (Coop) stayed behind to
help cover Blitzz. This was our first mistake as new members: the three
of us forgot to bring a squeegee with us on this mission. That was
alleviated by myself for the rest of the day. Bad FNGs!

Knowing that Blitzz was probably down for the rest of this game, I
crawled and blundered forward to start taking out people. While
focusing on the player behind the tree, another player moved in from
the forward/right of me and started laying down heavy fire. Between
this new objective (he was shooting orange fill) and the tree-dude, I
wound up getting a good healthy dose of paint on my person...I got hit.

My mistakes where:
-Losing the pin on the holy hand-grenade and possibly not deploying it
correctly. I never heard it go off.
-Failing to be a team player by bringing a basic tool of survival for
paintball...a squeegee.
-Not getting my carcass in a good, covered position to engage the
opponent
---------------------------------------------------------------------
The next game played involved myself and several other players holding
the same fort. I opted to bunker down in the fort since I tend to carry
lots of paint. After everybody finally settled into thier positions, we
waited. And waited. ....and waited. I finally tired of this and began
flinging verbal taunts at the attackers. I finally heard some action to
my left flank. There was absolutely nothing coming from the front
position of the fort, so I took a ref's advice and went to where the
action was. Another player stayed in the fort. This was my first
mistake as I should have held my post. There would soon be enough
action at that position.

I scurried off to the left flank and immediatly saw a player in motion
ahead of me. I thought it was one of my own, but soon realized he was
not as he began firing at me. I engaged this opponent for several
minutes suffering from the frustration of balls breaking on the dense
branches. We played peek-a-boo for awhile until I began taking fire
from another opponent to the right of the first opponent. I crawled
behind a fallen log and began trading riffs with both players until I
finally got whacked by the opponent to my forward/right.

My mistakes:
-I should have stayed in the fort with the other player. I believe we
could have racked up a nice body-count and changed the outcome of this
game.
-I felt we should have stayed closer to the fort as a team so we could
keep verbal contact with each other. As it stood, the first player I
engaged was someone I thought was on my team. We could have kept a
tighter encirclement, remained in visual and verbal contact, and
possibly defended better. I won't be so quiet about my input next time.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
3rd game...Predator!

Fellow FNG of the day, Steel (last name, not nickname), was volunteered
as Predator.
Most of the Humans went towards the bridge. I opted to go back towards
base and follow a trail that would hopefully flank the Predator's right
side. I had just got to the trail on the Human side of the creek when I
was turned Predator by one of Steel's first kills. They had found him
pretty quick and he laid down quite a bit of paint turning several
Humans Predator.
I dashed across the creek screaming "Predator!" until I was at a fair
and respectable spot to start picking off humans. I knew I had to be
hit in the chest, so I defended that target, took many hits to the
other parts of my body (including both inner thighs and my nuts in one
3-round burst) and helped turn several players into Predators.
I stuck to the banks of the creek and used the brambles to my advantage
to help break the Human's shots. I wasn't concerned with the other hits
to my carcass...it only made me play harder.
It finally came down to one last human who was pretty far down the
creek-bed. I followed 2 other Predators down the creek trying to find
the last Human. Once he was located, I helped in taking him out. It was
an ugly day for the Humans....

RE: [Ghostwalkers] AAR-Operation Rat Extermination/ Rescue Pepe.

My own contribution to rescuing Pepe was to draw fire and die in the first 5 minutes of play. Right behind Jester, who died first. Never got to lob my homemade MRE grenades. Damn.
I did, however, run into Pepe later at the debriefing - see attached. Apparently, the Rats failed to provide for all his needs. He seems to be catching up without any difficulties.

Re: AAR-Operation Rat Extermination/ Rescue Pepe.

I was about the forth person dead due to my mask fogging up when
playing and having a enemy guy straight on my right. Never got
anywhere near Pepe due to being surprised at how far out the Rats
were from their fort. Too bad. See ya later.
